Recordings, sleeping in, skunking...
 Hi all,JRP news has been a little quiet since lil' Charlie came on the scene...but rest assured..there are new activities! Recordings: Jack has started laying down some tracks @ the JRP studio. Peter (Von Althen) came in for a drum session yesterday....went well. We laid down 3 tunes. I'm pushing for more upfront rhythm.....more energy tunes...more punch....... It's easy working with PVA he's a solid player and a solid guy. Sleeping in:  On the home front...lil' Charlie (3 month old daughter) is starting to sleep in with daddy. It's a real treat to turn around in bed and see the back of lil' charlie's head. She's also starting to 'talk' and grab things....she's making connections.  Skunking:Well, Chico finally got skunked. We were down at the quarry and my nephew Dave noticed the skunk....then chico moved in. Got sprayed in the face. We've got him living in the shed for a few days till the stink lightens. 4 lbs and 3.3 oz of JRP love
Jack and Shannon would like to announce the birth of their little girl Charlotte. She came to us on Wednesday night at 8:08 pm. Mother and daughter are doing well, but Charlotte's a little light at 4 lbs and 3.3 oz so she has to stay at the hospital for a bit. She's feeding and getting a sun tan now, so until you can meet her here are some pics... enjoy! luv jackp

JRP on CBC Radio, National Broadcast, TONIGHT, Saturday, Feb 9th, 9:25pm
Hey folks, Hope you're all doing well. JRP is going to be featured on 'CBC Radio 2's National Broadcast' tonight, Saturday, Feb 9th @ 9:25 pm EST. We played a show at the end of November with the John Henrys. They'll be playing 30 mins from the JRP concert tonight. Black Sheep gig, Jan 13, all ages, 4pm
Hey folks, Happy holidays. Everyone's been busy but doing well. Jack and Shannon are back in their kitchen. Been an interesting month and a half of work, NAC gig, pregnancy and major home renovation. But....water is back on, oven/stone are in, fridge is hooked up and shelves are stocked...so life is resuming. Next show: Come on out for our all ages Matinee @ the Sheep on Sunday, Jan 13th. w/ special guests Greg Brayford and Don Brownrigg Sunday, Jan 13th 4pm all ages show at The Black Sheep - kids under 12 (and over 75) - Free - - students and teens (with ID) 1/2 price - directions Press: JRP made the 'Best of 2007 Recordings' list featured in last Saturday's Ottawa Citizen. It was a nice way to end the year. 'Morrison Heights' was alot of work...so it's nice to get props for the effort. Recordings: 3 tracks were laid down @ little Bullhorn. Some sugar to add, but essentially done. Jack and Shannon are going over a bunch of new stuff and choosing more songs to record and perform. Just have to fit it all in! Life: Shannon is doing well with pregnancy, kid is due mid April. Uploaded a myspace account for our neighbour and good friend Bob Webb... : http://myspace.com/bobwebbmusic. NAC + CBC gig done...fun, fun, fun!!!!
Hey all, Thx tons for getting tickets and coming out to our JRP/JH NAC 4th stage gig. Night was a success. Sold out house + CBC recording of the night for a few different CBC radio programs. We'll keep you posted on when they are.  The John Henrys sounded great....and the last tune with Rey guitar duo-ing was fun, haven't jammed out with another guitarist in a while. We wish them the best of luck on their next gigs (New Year's eve gig with the Sadies at the HorseShoe in Toronto).The JRP kids were battling some head colds and other ailments but rallied together and got her done. There were definitely some highlights for us. Enjoyed doing 'Altered State' and 'Unsent' twice for recording posterity! And...for me personally, that 'Mildred' encore was great, felt good, hadn't played that song as a band in a while...and appreciated the request. And, seeing Niki come down from Vancouver was a real nice surprise... Niki's an original, one of the crew.  Thx for coming out people!Thx to the NAC and the CBC too.  Hey folks, Thursday, November 29th, JRP and the John Henrys are playing a double bill at the NAC's Fourth Stage. This will be a special night. Barrymore's + Bicycles for Humanity Fun
 Hey all,Well JRP played at Barrymore's for the Bicycles for Humanity's Ottawa fundraiser. We backed Jeff Meleras and played our own set as well. Both felt groovy. Had some nice moments on stage for sure... We also got to hear some cool artists and meet some new people as well.
