JRP 'Morrison Heights' 4 1/2 on 5 star review (Ottawa Citizen)
"...on a beautifully realized disc. This is for fans of Jenny Lewis or Dean & Britta -- if they were on a country retreat -- and an early contender for disc of the year..."

sacrilege

I found this to be extremely upsetting...much worse than the 'Mcartney/JayZ' stupidity. Terrible...i wanted to kill all 3 jonas brothers and all people that thought this was 'entertaining'.
What's next? Neil Young and Debbie Gibson? Actually, i can't think of anything worse than the jonas brothers...

The Nunas
Nunas:There's only one Jason Jaknunas.... he gets some well deserved props in this article:
http://www.ottawacitizen.com/Entertainment/doesn+wait+magic/1153961/story.htmlThrough the years i have learned alot from the 'nunas'....and i've probably also driven him insane! He was the first cat i worked with who 'got it'...was in the same generation as me....got the same references.... a pro
Other stuff:Jack's bed tracks are done....some overdubs to do....and vocals. Then mix...master and manufacture. I don't like the last 3 stages.... anybody wanna mail me a roll of bills???

All is well...
Jack laid down some bed tracks @ Little Bullhorn for a solo thing. There's some groove there...feeling it. Just trying to keep working on the stuff, tricky with a 9 month old daughter. Kid wants to walk...
Spent the day snowblowing and shoveling...insanity...
Must sleep...
Oh yeah, Jack loves his new Gretsch...it's a beauty...been playing alot of guitar. Dunno why i haven't got a guitar with a bigsby till now!

NAC...new blood...
Fun set at the NAC 4th Stage last night. Had a good time on stage and the crowd was great. Good luck to Marie-Josee on her new album. She had a great band last night, songs flowed.
Jack has booked studio time @ Bullhorn ...new ideas... new blood... experimenting.
Stay tuned, JRP is going into muse mode. Less shows more incubating.

JRP"...The whole disc culminates in the six-minute, swelling rock gem called Fight Your Way Out, adding guts to a fine country album. An early contender for disc of the year.

Recordings, sleeping in, skunking...

Hi all,
JRP news has been a little quiet since lil' Charlie came on the scene...but rest assured..there are new activities!
Recordings:Jack has started laying down some tracks @ the JRP studio. Peter (Von Althen) came in for a drum session yesterday....went well. We laid down 3 tunes. I'm pushing for more upfront rhythm.....more energy tunes...more punch....... It's easy working with PVA he's a solid player and a solid guy.
Sleeping in:
On the home front...lil' Charlie (3 month old daughter) is starting to sleep in with daddy. It's a real treat to turn around in bed and see the back of lil' charlie's head. She's also starting to 'talk' and grab things....she's making connections.
Skunking:
Well, Chico finally got skunked. We were down at the quarry and my nephew Dave noticed the skunk....then chico moved in. Got sprayed in the face. We've got him living in the shed for a few days till the stink lightens. Jack loves it that Chico is now a proper dog and lives in the shed.
